The Wedding Dress Revenge Ad

One of the clear dangers of cheating on a partner is the possible retribution. This guy obviously didn’t hire a private investigator to discreetly let him know about the activities of his fiancée – he had to find out the hard way.

Supported by one of his friends – but not the ‘best friend’ his fiancée slept with – the pair posted her not-to-be wedding dress on Gumtree. The Daily Telegraph reported on it two days after it was posted, and it’s now gotten 200,307 views, just four days on. Talk about going public with the break up!

The ad’s description didn’t hold back:

‘Due to be married soon? Not planning on staying faithful? Want to sleep with one of your soon-to-be husband’s closest friends? Then THIS is the wedding dress for you!

This stunning, tuille swathed, ivory bridal gown has a proven track record of producing an adulterous, deceitful, double-crossing and traitorous “soulmate”.’

And the knives stay out of the draw: ‘This harlot-sized ensemble will make you the envy of your trampish posse on your fraudulent wedding day.’

And the perfect clinching line: ‘Cosmetically, the garment is in better condition than the marriage – not looking for much. Make an offer.’  See the original ad for the full, no holds barred revenge ad.

Perhaps hiring a private investigator could have saved this guy some grief – then again, she would still have been cheating on him, so what can you do? Apparently his answer was ‘get even’.

We wonder if revenge ads will become more popular following the success of ones like this. Have you seen any good ones? Link them in comments!
