Hey there, Steve here and welcome to this week’s private eye post where we’ll go over four of the most common telltale signs of a cheating husband.
There are two main ways a husband can cheat. He can carry on an affair or have a fling. A fling is usually just about sex. He will have no interest in making something work in the long term. An affair is when he emotionally and physically invests in another relationship besides your marriage.
Of course, both are devastating to discover. And both of these endeavours leave clues. They just vary in nature, so you may not spot all four of these signs in every cheater case.

#1 Life In The Fast Lane
The majority of people lead largely similar lives. They have fixed routines for the various parts of their day. They get up, get dressed, and go to work. They come home, eat dinner, and go to bed. Sometimes they go out and catch up with their friends for a drink or a meal. At weekends, they go grocery shopping, and maybe pursue a hobby.
Sure, there are countless variations for specific individuals but you’d be shocked at the predictability of this lifestyle pattern. People have routines, and once they’re in place they’re difficult to change.
Has your husband changed his routines? Is he busy every night of the week? Does it feel like he’s “switched lanes” and now he’s living life in the fast lane?
This is because when a husband starts to cheat, he feels attractive again to the opposite sex. And this feeling gives him a renewed energy and zest for life.
#2 The Times They Are A Changin’
A big problem that all cheating husbands face is how to make time to cheat. So, they have to make excuses to cover their time tracks. Work excuses are the obvious choice. Whether it’s working early or late, look out for those changes as to how he spends his time.
Of course, sometimes work does require some changes in time. But if these changes are becoming more frequent and don’t have a solid foundational reason, you have to wonder what he’s really up to. Does he really need to have so many business trips and late-night work-related meetings?
#3 Separate Lives
When a husband carries on a long-term affair, it will feel like you’re living separate lives. Think about when you first met and couldn’t get enough of each other. The excitement and rush of something new and promising. Everyone settles down as the honeymoon phase comes to an end. And after you’ve been married for some time, it’s only natural that you both have other things in your life besides each other.
But marriages which remain intact are always those where both people make time for each other. Date nights and shared experiences are key to relationship survival. If these are none-existent in your marriage, you have to question why you’re both living alongside each other, rather than with each other.
#4 “Shiny And New”
The rush and excitement cheaters experience with a new partner often carries over into the other areas of their life. They start doing new things — without their wife being involved. And by doing these new things, they pick up new ways and mannerisms.
We’ve had wives come and tell us they know something is wrong simply because their husband has started using new words and phrases around the house. And of course, the biggest giveaway of all is when he tries something “shiny and new” in the bedroom.
Generally, wives are much more likely to pick up on the emotional side of things that something is wrong. It’s a gut instinct that kicks in with a clear-as-day warning sign. They might not even know the exact reason why they feel so strongly about the situation. If this is happening in your marriage, look for the four telltale signs above and if you spot them, it’s time to hire our investigator team to find out for sure.
