Unwrapping A Nasty Surprise — Why Christmas Is The Best Time To Catch A Cheating Partner

Hey there, Steve here and welcome to this week’s private eye post. Christmas is just around the corner, and I want to take this opportunity to wish you the best of the season. Unfortunately, the holiday period is also the perfect storm of opportunity for cheating partners to begin, or continue adulterous activities.

If you think about it a little, it’s just common sense. There are heaps of parties, and everywhere you go people are making merry, and enjoying time out and about. Along with the huge increase in numbers of people out celebrating, the single people amongst them are often looking for ways to hook up over the holidays.

Although the holidays present increased opportunities for cheating, there’s a flip side — they also make it more straightforward to spot a cheat.

#1 Christmas Work

As I mentioned in previous posts, one of the major challenges every cheat faces is creating the time they need to conduct their affair. This might not be too difficult for them during normal working weeks, when you attention is focused on your own work. But when you have time off, and they aren’t spending their time with you, it can be much more obvious that they aren’t around. After all, how many employers expect too much from their employees at this time of year? Sudden work trips are not really likely, are they? Why do they need to work late? Sure, in some cases there are genuine reasons for these things. But if this type of activity is accompanied by the other signs of Christmas cheating, it’s probably a big lie.

#2 Zero Digital Litter

When someone has nothing to hide, they have no worries about what you see of them. Their phone is left around, their computer is unlocked, and their browsing history is there for you to see. As are their text message and call histories. Everyone leaves a ton of “digital litter” from their day-to-day activities. So if your significant other cleans up their activity, leaving no trace of what they’ve been up to online, or on their mobile device, then they must be doing this for a reason. There could be many reasons for this, but one of the most likely is they’re doing the dirty.

#3 Argument Central

Everyone knows that worlds collide at big family functions, such as weddings. In fact, there’s an increased chance of arguments at family “get-togethers” at Christmas. You and your partner will be spending more time together during the holidays too. It should be a time of fun, relaxation and celebration. But if their mind is elsewhere, this often leads to increased tension. And this can mean more arguments between the two of you.

#4 Social Butterfly

Most people are simply nowhere near as technically savvy as they would think. If you know what you’re doing, you can uncover a lot of information about someone extremely easily based on their social media activity. This is even easier if you’re connected on a social platform, such as Facebook. See if they have new “friends”, where they’re commenting and liking, what they’re sharing and so on. Fifteen minutes of detailed inspection can easily uncover cheating activity.

Summary

The Christmas holidays present many more opportunities for a cheat to take advantage of, but they also give you an increased ability to uncover their suspicious activity. Look out for the signs I mention here, and follow us on Facebook for more information on signs of cheating over Xmas, and how to get help if you think you need to.

Until next week,

Steve.
